Lose Weight USA

Anyone who is trying to lose weight needs to way themselves daily and try to do it at the same time of day, you will soon find that your weigh can fluctuate during the month.

Here are some tips for helping you to decide if you need to lose weigh.

The first piece of required information you need is your height. It important taking an accurate measurement as a difference of an inch can change your Body Mass Index Result To get an accurate measurement, have someone else there to help you and double check.

Okay, so I'm 5'4? = 64? or 167.64 centimetres.

The next piece of information you need is your weight, so hop on that scale (try to weigh yourself at the same time each day - better to do so in the morning - for accuracy) and write the number down.

How do you calculate BMI? BMI is calculated by the following formula: weight in kg / height in m2. Or, if you're not familiar with kilogram and meter measurements:

Step 1. Take your weight (in pounds) x 705
Step 2. Divide that number by your height (in inches)
Step 3. Divide that number by your height (in inches) again

I weigh 141 pounds, so…

141 x 705 = 99,405 / 64 = 1553.20 /66 = 24.3

So my BMI is 24.4, which puts me in the healthy weight category.

BMI Standards:

Underweight < 18.5
Healthy Weight = 18.5 - 24.9
Overweight = 25 - 29.9
Obese I = 30 - 34.9
Obese II = 35 - 39.9
Obese III = 40+

Something you might also care to note is your frame size, which can be useful when determining ideal weight.

So you have height, weight, BMI, and frame size. This isn't necessary, but you can also take other measurements to keep track of to help you see how your body is changing in ways other than pounds. I measure my waist, hips, and neck. Remember, your waist is just above your hips bones (usually, but not always, where you wear your pants), and your hip measurement is around your hip bones. (You'll get a bit of your behind in there, but the tape should't go across on the middle of it.)

Okay, we're almost done.

How do you calculate your ideal weight? This one is easy because I've found a site where you can just plug in the numbers you already have from above. This site gives you your ideal weight in four forms (one of which I completely disregard).

Taking your sex, age, height, and weight, it determines People's Choice Weight, which shows the average weight that other people of your Age, Height, Weight and Gender would describe as their ideal weight. The next is the medical recommendation, and the one after that takes your frame size into account, which I like. What your job is is to look at all the numbers and determine what weight is best for you.

For instance, my medical recommendation is 111-146 pounds. I would never try to get to 111 because with my medium frame size.

Once you've determined your ideal goal weight, be sure to write it down. Finally, you want to determine how much water you drink per day. I promise this part will be easy. All you do to determine how many fluid ounces you should be drinking is take your weight and divide it in half. Simple? Yep. For me: 141/2 = 71 fluid ounces ~ 2099.72 millilitres

Now all you have to do is find a water bottle you like and determine how many of them you'll need to drink per day. I have 750ml bottles, so diving the millilitres by 750 gives me about 3 bottles a day.
