Desperate to lose Weight

It's amazing to me the number of weight loss/ fitness gimmicks that are out there and even more amazing that people spend so much money on them. People talk about the secrets of weight loss, well the secret is, there is no secret nutrient, no magic pill or miraculous piece of equipment. Good nutrition is just not that difficult. If it were we would have died off a long time ago. I see in magazines, on the Internet and on t.v. programs that are basically just portion controlled microwave dinners. Nobody needs to spend that kind of money on food that isn't even very healthy.

Here is what my simple plan would be. you can buy plastic plates that are divided into sections, so I would suggest buying these plates and "labeling" them as proteins for the larger section, vegetables for one of the smaller sections and fruit for the smallest section. Only put what will fit and no piling and balancing 12 inch high "food mountains."

There is the food component, now for exercise. Do something active for at least 20 minutes per day and incorporate some sort of resistance training in there 3 – 4 times per week. If you can do this (and I know you can), you can achieve your weight loss and fitness goals.

Obesity is one of the biggest health challenges we face nowadays. Almost 1 in 4 adults in England are currently obese and the experts predict that if we do not do anything about it three-quarters of the population could suffer the ill effects of excess weight within the next 10 to 15 years.

The problem is growing rapidly and the costs are soaring. The NHS estimated cost to treat obese and overweight individuals is around £4.2 billion and is forecast to more than double by 2050.

Obesity is a medical condition when a person is carrying too much body fat for their height and sex to such a degree that it rapidly increases the risk of diseases leading to reduced life expectancy. Obesity causes about 30,000 deaths a year in England alone.

The standard expression of body size is the body mass index (BMI). It represents body weight (in kilograms) relative to body height (in metres squared).

By the official standard being obese is having a BMI over 30.

Our lifestyle has changed rapidly. We no longer walk to work or school or eat home-made food. We replaced it with cars and ready-made high-in-fat and high-in-sugar meals. We also eat 'super-sized' portions at home or eat out in restaurants offering eat-as-much-as-you-can meals.

So, it is no wonder that we are getting fatter and developing heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and osteoarthritis.

Tackle the problem may not be easy but with a bit of determination we should be on our way to a healthier Britain.

To achieve a healthy body we have to permanently change our eating and exercise habits. It is a long-term lifestyle change rather than a quick fix fad and it can provide sustained weight loss and minimize the risk of chronic diseases.

Incorporating exercise in your lifestyle such as brisk walking, cycling, dancing, swimming or Yoga at least three times a week for 20-30 minutes will be a great start to weight loss.

Adding to your daily meals fresh fruits and vegetables, wholemeal bread and pasta, brown rice, nuts and seeds will bring gratification and will result in fewer cravings of fatty and sugary snacks.

Drinking plenty of still water will keep you hydrated and it will reduce your urge to eat when you are not hungry.

In no time you will feel better and see the difference. You will be on your way to live a happy, healthy and fulfilling life.

Desperate to lose Weight

The principle of Dukan Diet, also called Protal Diet, is to fight obesity by eating lean protein and reducing carbohydrates and lipids until desired weight loss is achieved. This plan does not provide quantitative restrictions, but only qualitative restrictions. The sharp reduction of carbohydrates and lipids requires the body to tap into its fat reserves. The absorption of protein allows the body to retain muscle mass. Furthermore, proteins are much less caloric than fat and you will appreciate the fact that you can eat as much lean protein as you want.

Phase 1 of Dukan Diet

In this phase of the diet, the foods allowed are:

  • Lean meat: veal, beef, horse
  • Some offal: liver, kidney and tongue of veal and beef
  • Fresh or smoked fish, surimi
  • Seafood (shellfish, crustaceans);
  • Poultry: chicken, turkey (except duck and goose) without the skin
  • Lean ham and cold cuts
  • Eggs
  • Dairy products to 0% fat, skimmed milk
  • 3 tablespoons of oat bran every day
The foods should be cooked without fat and can be eaten in unlimited quantities, except the egg yolks (risk of cholesterol) and dairies (no more than 1 kg per day). Are also allowed, in reasonable quantities: gherkins, herbs and spices, vinegar, mustard oil, paraffin oil, etc ... You must drink 8 glasses of water every day. Diet soft drinks are also permitted. This phase lasts from 5 to 10 days depending on the level of obesity and the candidate's motivation ...

Phase 2 of Dukan Diet

In this phase you get to eat the phase 1 foods, plus the following:

  • Vegetables, except avocado and artichoke
  • Soy and tofu, pressed, smoked or silky
However, carrots and beets should be consumed in moderation and not at every meal. The foods must also be cooked without fat. Meat and fish are still more important than vegetables. Water consumption remains very important.. Salads can be accompanied by fat-free sauces. Phase 2 consists in alternating 5 days of protein (PV) and vegetables with 5 days of pure protein (PP), as you did in phase 1. This phase should last until you reach your desired weight.

Phase 3 of Dukan Diet

The foods are the same as those of phase 2, plus:

  • 2 slices of bread a day
  • 1 serving of hard cheese per day
  • 1 serving of fruit per day
  • 2 servings of starches per week
  • 2 free dinner meals per week
During the free dinner meals, all foods are allowed (including previously forbidden foods such as sugar or oil) on the express condition that you take only one serving of each dish and that you choose between cheese and dessert. You cannot have two free meals on the same day.

Phase 4 of Dukan Diet One day per week, on Thursday, according to Dr. Dukan, it is necessary to have a "PP" day as you were doing during Phase 1. Dr. Dukan recommends that Phase 4 will last 10 days lost per kilo (2 lbs) during the first 2 phases, for example, 150 days for an individual who has lost 15 kilos.

Life After Dukan Diet

After reaching your goal, you will resume a normal diet with two exceptions:

  • You need to maintain a "Thursday PP day" (as in phase 1, eggs and dairy products not allowed)
  • You will eat 3 tablespoons of oat bran every day for the rest of your life
According to Dr. Dukan, oat bran reduces the absorption of calories in the small intestine.

Weight reduction is something that many if not all are concerned. With the skyrocketing population of folk dying of a number of medical problems that is why most of us now are getting into the hype of weight reduction and at the same time to fitness.

However, how would you know if a weight loss program actually works? Like every other products, you may just know if it is efficient or not after you attempted it for a number of days. If it won't work, you may decide to switch your weight loss program.

You can find a number of weight loss programs by just typing it on the search engine. The nice thing here is that their products have testimonials. However, you are not sure whether the testimonials are true or simply exaggerated paid comments. So whom are you going to trust?

Since it appears that you are fighting to shed pounds, let me just give you some guides on properly selecting the healthy yet effective weight loss program before you even try it. First of all, a bona fide weight reduction plan does not let you lose more than five pounds per week. Don't take this statement negatively. At the same time, likelihood is you are going to gain these pounds back instantly after you stopped the program. Anything more than this is already not healthy or not advisable.

Next thing is that when a weight loss regimen that promotes no effort weight reduction is also a huge lie. The reason being because you have got to burn calories and stored fats to help you toward weight loss. You also need to take some food in moderation to keep your body from accumulating calories that could be a major contributor to weight gain.

Eventually, a correct and healthy weight loss plan must not and will not ask you to take slimming tablets. The cause of this is that slimming pills can be very costly and also taking in the not prescribed slimming tablets may lead to some chemical imbalances to your body. So, may have bad side effects to you. Don't forget that you continue following my posts for extra tips. Remember that you should not just go into any weight loss regimen. Properly check the program first so that you will have a healthy weight loss journey.

Many people ask me if weight loss is affected by alcohol. A couple drinks on the weekend and or on special occasions probably won't have any major impact on your fat loss results (although I would encourage you to consider the mind set that EVERYTHING you do either helps or hurts).

A drink or two on occasions is a part of enjoying life for many people, and it's important to find lifestyle balance for the sake of your long term happiness and success.

However, I do not recommend drinking every day.

"A couple every day" adds a LOT of extra calories to your daily diet. If you're talking about two 150-calorie beers, that's 300 calories extra a day or 2100 extra calories a week.

Multiply that out for a year and you have 109,200 extra calories! WOW! That's potentially 31.2 pounds of fat in a year.

If you DO account for the calories in those drinks, then you have another conundrum - the alcohol calories displace good valuable food calories...

Drinking gives you empty alcohol calories with virtually no nutritional value (and some negative value in more way than one), while pushing out important vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals essential amino acids, essential fatty acids, fiber and other good stuff.

Alcohol also inhibits fat burning. While your liver is busy metabolising alcohol, it puts your fat metabolism on hold. That's why I do NOT recommend any drinking when you are on a fat loss program (at least if you are serious about it).

When you are on a regular, year-round lifestyle/maintenance program I recommend that if you drink, you do so in moderation, keep it to special occasions or weekends and remember to factor in those calories to your daily intake.

By the way, there's a major risk to drinking every day - even just one or two - that most people don't even think about:

Daily drinking is habit forming. Anything you do every day easily becomes a habit that is difficult to break later.

On the other hand, if you could establish the habit of eating 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables and getting some exercise every single day, those would be habits worth forming! :-)

Never give up eating as it will only make you weaker and can cause severe problems. .

Sleep - Along with good exercises and a good diet, sleep is also very necessary. Sleep helps your body to rest and therefore function better. Regular sleep patterns will enhance metabolism and digestion to help you with losing weight effectively.

Health Supplements - There are various supplements that you can go for as well. Some have gained a good deal of popularity owing to the results they can provide you, but I highly recommend you always try to do a good amount of research on the product that you are planning to use and then check with your Doctor to make sure it will not show you any adverse effects. Products that offer to reduce your weight in a couple of days may be something that you need to stay away from.

Make sure you are aware of all the above points and only then go for the option that best suits you. Regular exercises and a good diet are the most effective ways to achieve your goals.

The national research council recommends eating five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Fruits and vegetables are the ideal diet foods for several reasons. They're relatively low in fat and calories, yet are often high in fiber and rich in essential vitamins and minerals.

Remember that rapid weight-loss consists mostly of water and muscle - - the wrong kind of weight to lose. To avoid this, set more reasonable goals, such as one pound per week.

Carbohydrates are high-octane fuel. They provide energy for movement and help raise internal body metabolism. They're also satisfying. The key is not adding high-fat toppings to your carbohydrates.

It's everyday habits which define our weight and body composition. A three-minute walk after each meal is worth four pounds less body fat annually. Two flights of stairs a day burns off half a pound of body fat in a year. On the other hand, one candy bar eaten daily will cost you 20 pounds annually.

I know that you have probably seen these before but hey it's very important because I see all these people that want to lose weight but don't know how to or they don't have the determination. I always say that if there is something that you don't like about yourself change it. There is no sense in sitting around on that couch and being jealous of everyone else because you are feeling insecure. Here are some ways that I have seen people losing weight. These tips work.

  1. Write your goal on paper. I say this one because a goal is not valid unless it's on paper.
  2. Stay committed and determined to complete your goal.
  3. . Surround yourself with people who are supportive and who will help u accomplish this goal. This one is very important because that is the one thing that will sidetrack you from doing something positive is having that one negative "friend" that is afraid that you are going look better than them.
  4. Yes, watch what you eat. Of course.
  5. Get outside. Be active. Join a health club. Or a gym.
  6. Create a healthy social life. Losing weight or anything that has to do with changing ourselves requires that we have good, positive associations. It requires that we want this for ourselves and that we have a self esteem that is high.
  7. Don't say you are going to lose weight and then do all the things that say you are not. Be proactive.
Once these you follow these tips I am sure that you will not only lose the weight that you want to lose but you will find that you have created a new you from the inside out.

Inspired by my conversations with clients today I thought I would address the "Dieting" issue. There are so many do's and dont's out there and so many myths to debunk. So, let's dive in and discuss how 90% of people fail at diets but the majority of people succeed at "clean eating"

First off what is clean eating? Clean eating is supplying your body with the nutrients it needs, while trying to eat more healthy foods such as; fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains. Isn't that a diet? Well, according to the Websters dictionary a diet is, "a regiment of eating and drinking sparingly so as to reduce one's weight". I do not know about you but that sounds pretty naff and I wouldn't want to follow something like that! Which one sounds better to you Clean eating or Dieting?

Let's look at how to eat clean and how you benefit from it. Include the following items in your meal plan: fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, low-fat dairy products, protein and whole grains/complex carbohydrates Foods to avoid: Processed foods, refined foods, package snacks, candies, pastries, white bread and pasta, saturated fats, trans fats, and sugary soda's and juices.

Follow these tips when constructing your menu:

  1. Eat 5-6 times a day. Mixing 3 to 4 meals with 2 to 3 healthy snacks
  2. Try to eat every 3-5 hours, unless you really are not hungry
  3. Try to pair a source of protein with a carb source. This will help you digest your food more slowly giving you a satisfied feeling for longer.
Benefits of Clean Eating: more energy, clearer skin and shinier, healthier hair, increased mental well being, better sleep and of course weight loss! As you can see doesn't clean eating look more appealing then a diet of regimented foods and water taking in sparing to lose weight!

In an effort to do something short of a miracle in the pursuit for weight loss, dieters have began searching for other methods; one that would really work and would really promote weight loss. For example weight loss surgery. Like other surgeries, weight loss surgery also inevitably come with certain flaws in the sense that it has many hazards to offer.

Scientifically, weight loss surgery is proven to be effective when done properly by the surgeon; and when the dieter/patient is following directions. But even though there is an acceptable success rate of weight loss surgery patients, some people would rather rule out this option because of the said hazards that it may bring.

The first and ultimate thing that makes dieters want to try out weight loss surgery is that it can have a miracle effect on the body of a horrendously overweight or obese individual. Its effect can also be seen immediately; instantaneously. But even so, the dangers of weight loss surgery are quite undeniable. Indeed, weight loss surgery are not a hundred percent safe. Moreover, weight loss surgery is really quite expensive as well. Lastly, weight loss surgery is recommended for that who are really obese and would not to lose a lot of weight immediately; but then again, it doesn't work well for those people who have chronic disorders such s heart diseases and diabetes.

If truth be told, weight loss surgery is quite a blessing, or so some people say. But once a dieter fails to instill discipline in him or herself after the surgical procedure, and then the effort that he or she has exerted on the weight loss surgery would only be futile.

As mentioned, weight loss surgery is not recommended for those people who are not thoroughly obese, so a dieter has to assess his or her excess body fat. Is it too much, indeed, or can it still be remedied through exercise and dieting? Exhaust other options first, especially those that can aid in health and wellness. Only after these options are no longer capable of promoting weight loss should you resort to weight loss surgery as a viable option to keep off excess body fat and body weigh

Remember that weight gain did not occur overnight and will not be lost overnight. Stick with your goals by making lifestyle modifications that aid in weight loss.

    • Get daily physical activity. People who have lost weight and kept it off typically engage in 60–90 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity most days of the week while not exceeding calorie needs. This doesn't necessarily mean 60–90 minutes at one time.
  3. Stay the Course

Today I want to discuss why eating 4 - 6 smaller meals more frequently (about 2.5 - 3 hours apart) is better than 3 large meals ... and why eating fewer calories at night is ideal.

Eating a large meal increases the opportunity for fat cells to extract fat from the blood and, therefore, grow bigger. Fat cells can actually adapt to a pattern of large, infrequent meals by becoming more efficient at storing fat.

In addition, a 2 - 3 meal-a-day pattern causes the body to face long stretches without food. By the time lunch or dinner rolls around, you're so famished you're more likely to make unwise food choices and overeat.

Eating smaller meals more frequently throughout the days, on the other hand, not only prevents you from gorging on unwise food choices; it helps you feel energized and satisfied (and keeps your metabolism "revved" up) throughout the day.

In addition to eating smaller meals more frequently, try to plan so that you don't eat your largest meal late at night. The body's metabolic rate has a natural cycle of highs and lows, peaking late in the day and dropping to its lowest level during sleep.

So, it makes sense to avoid putting a large meal into your system 2 to 3 hours before bedtime, when your metabolic rate is beginning to slow down. If you do feel hungry after this time, you don't need to go to bed hungry; just eat something especially low in calories and in a small portion.

Protein and fibrous carbs (vegetables) are the very best types of food to eat at night because they're so low in calories and have almost no adverse affect on blood sugar levels.

But eating less at night is an easy way to keep calories under control, especially since these extra calories aren't needed at night before you go to bed because you'll be inactive while you're sleeping. Make sense?

1. Eat small, frequent meals (4 - 6 meals/day) about 2.5 - 3 hours apart, and...

2. Try to eat fewer calories later in the day (which can easily be accomplished by focusing on protein and/or veggies).

You can also make your diet healthy by reducing the salt and substituting it with herbs and spices. Herbs are very effective as they also act as antioxidants which detoxify the body as well as boost the body's immune system thus reducing weight gain.

In order to understand what a healthy diet is you will also need to appreciate nutrition and you can only do this by get to know a little bit of nutrition. One way of getting to know about nutrition is by taking a course in nutrition or consulting a nutritionist or dietician. Once you have done this you will be able to know what is good and what is bad for the body.

H1N1- You Are At greater Risk if Overweight

As if people struggling with obesity did not have enough to worry about, they now face a new health hazard. According to statistics from the US, overweight people appear more likely to die of swine flu.

Most of the people who have died from H1N1 swine flu have had an underlying health problem that weakened their ability to fight off the virus. Among the conditions recognised as increasing the risk from flu are hypertension, diabetes, chronic lung obstruction and coronary disease. Now it may be time to add obesity to the list.

Unpublished figures reported at a recent meeting of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia, show that of 99 people who died in the early stages of the pandemic in the US, 45 per cent were obese. As only 26 per cent of US adults are obese, this suggests that obesity doubles the risk of getting seriously ill with swine flu.

The figures surprised most flu researchers. "In 40 years of studying flu, I have never heard anything about obesity," says virologist John Oxford of Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of London. Obesity specialists, however, say it fits with what they have learned in recent years.

The only study looking directly at flu and obesity was done in 2007 by Melinda Beck and colleagues at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. It was already known that abdominal fat releases a continuous stream of chemicals that trigger inflammation, an immune response normally aimed at killing invading pathogens and infected cells. So Beck's team wondered what effect this had on flu. They were especially interested, she says, because runaway inflammation, known as a "cytokine storm", is what kills most flu victims.

Beck and her team found that overfed, obese mice are nearly seven times as likely to die of ordinary flu as genetically identical lean mice (The Journal of Nutrition, vol 137, p 1236).

The researchers also measured immune chemicals in the mice's blood. Prior to infection, the obese mice had much higher levels of a hormone called leptin than the normal mice. During the initial stages of infection, they had fewer virus-killing cells and chemicals.

Leptin is released by fat cells and, among other things, triggers immune reactions. Beck thinks that obese mice become desensitised to leptin, making their immune system slow to react. "Our experiments suggest the problem is the fat itself."

As their flu worsened, the obese mice did mount an immune response, but it was "too little too late", says Beck. It failed to get rid of the virus and eventually triggered a runaway immune response that escalated until it killed the mice – much as the cytokine storm does in people.

We don't know if the same series of events happen in obese people with swine flu, Beck warns. But it is possible that, as in mice, obesity dampens our ability to fight flu by disrupting the immune response, says Jesse Roth, a diabetes specialist at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. "The resting level of inflammation goes up in obesity," he says. He suspects that this disrupts the body's immune response to viruses, making a lethal runaway reaction more likely.

During a flu pandemic, it is more important than ever to tackle obesity, Roth says. "It's amazing how much obesity-related inflammation you can reverse with just a little diet and exercise." He says a daily half-hour walk and losing about 5 per cent of body weight if you are overweight is enough to reduce inflammation. " David Fedson, a former flu researcher at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, has long proposed using drugs that damp down inflammation, such as statins, fibrates and glitazones, as an additional way of cutting deaths from flu. These drugs are normally prescribed for obesity-related disorders such as high cholesterol and insulin insensitivity. The new figures on obesity and swine flu strengthen the case for stockpiling the drugs, given that shortages of vaccine and antiviral drugs are likely, Fedson says. "These drugs are safe and cheap, but they are being ignored by pandemic planners."

Desperate To Lose Weight

If you've been paying close attention to the news lately, you might have seen this headline: Diet – not exercise – is the key to weight loss, according to a Loyola University Health System study.

But if you think that gives you an excuse to sit around all day, think again.

"The problem lies in the words 'weight loss,'" eDiets Chief Fitness Pro Raphael Calzadilla says. "The goal should be to retain or increase muscle mass and lose body fat. This approach stimulates the metabolism and creates a healthy functioning system. Our society is too focused on the scale and not on a holistic approach to health and fitness."

As part of the study, researchers compared both the activity level and diet of African American women in metropolitan Chicago with those of women in rural Nigeria; the Chicago women weighed an average of 184 pounds while the Nigerian women averaged 127 pounds.

Researchers expected the slimmer Nigerian women to be more physically active than the other group, but both groups of women burned roughly the same number of calories through exercise. So what do the researchers attribute the weight difference to? In a word, diet.

In the study, Loyola nutritionist Amy Luke noted that the Nigerian diet was high in fiber and carbs but low in fat and protein. Conversely, the Chicago women ate a diet made up of highly processed foods and 40-45 percent fat. The study, however, doesn't mention how many calories each group consumed.

Although diet may play a crucial role in weight loss, you should combine diet with a proven fitness program for the best results, according to Raphael. He explains how focusing on diet alone will help you lost weight — at the expense of muscle.

"For example, person A reduces calories and does not exercise," Raphael says. "They subsequently lose 15 pounds, but those 15 pounds might be water, fat and muscle. In addition, they've done nothing to increase their energy level and may even appear less firm."

And what about the person who diets and exercises regularly?

"Person B reduces calories to an appropriate amount and loses fat and water weight," he says. "However, this person also gains or retains muscle from exercising and increases their energy level as well… the key is removing ourselves from the term 'weight loss' and shifting our perspective to fat loss and muscle gain/retention."

With the summer heat I'm constantly thinking of hydration. Water is crucial in the body and is very often the "forgotten nutrient."

There are 6 Groups of Essential Nutrients

  1. Carbohydrates
  2. Fats & Oils
  3. Proteins
  4. Vitamins
  5. Minerals
  6. Water
These six nutrients are considered ESSENTIAL because our bodies need them to survive.

The first 3 (Carbohydrates, Fats & Oils, and Proteins) are energy providing nutrients. They are the only 3 that provide our body with calories, and are often referred to as macro nutrients since our bodies need them in large quantities to function properly.

Vitamins & Minerals are referred to as micro nutrients since our bodies need them in relatively small quantities (it doesn't mean they're less important!). These micro nutrients support many important bodily functions, and when deficiency occurs, consequences are seen.

The last one is water, and it is often forgotten as an essential nutrient. Your water intake is more than just the water you drink, but it also comes from places such as juice, soups, fruits and vegetables.

What role does fluid play in your body?

  • Dissolves & transports substances throughout the body
  • Accounts for blood volume
  • Regulates body temperature
  • Protects & lubricates our tissues
These roles are all incredibly important for good health, and also rather complex in nature!

How much water do you need?

  • Intake is extremely individualized (athletes need more, and those in humid environments need more)
  • DRI for adult men 19-50: 3.7 liters of total water day (food & liquids), or about 3.0 lifters of beverages
  • DRI for adult women 19-50: 2.7 liters of total water (foods & liquids), or about 2.2 litres of beverages
  • Athletes should replace every pound of weight loss from sweat with 16 ounces of liquids.
Is bottle water better than tap?
  • Americans drink approximately 7.5 billion gallons of bottled water each year!
  • There is no evidence that says bottled water is better.
  • In fact a lot of bottled water may be tap water packaged.
  • Some types of bottled water have minerals added. Check the label for sodium, some have quite a bit and if you need to watch your sodium intake beware!
  • If you use your own filtration systems at home make sure to change the filter appropriately.
  • If you drink out of a cooler at work, make sure it is cleaned once a month (run 1/2 gallon of white vinegar through it, and rinse with 5 gallons of water)

There is only one weight loss exercise that's the best fat burning exercise for everyone by far, there's not even a close second.

However, most so-called weight-loss experts don't teach this exercise, either because they are ignorant of the facts, or more than likely, because they can't make any money from it.

You have to go through all the different exercise routines on all the different exercise equipment in a gym, or buy all this weird exercise equipment, or that you need to be running for weight loss, are just giving you the runaround.

Weight Lifting As a Weight Loss Exercise
Many people who call themselves experts, make the claim that since muscles burn fat, you need to build big muscles so that you can burn more fat, and so…

You should work with weights, because that builds the biggest muscles.

That's totally misleading, but it sells a lot of gym memberships, and lots of exercise equipment.

Many people are looking for a quick weight loss workout, and also, many fitness professionals (note that I didn't say experts), believe that the harder you work out, the more fat you will burn, but… That's a Lie!

The people who make these kinds of claims, obviously haven't a clue how the human body works as it relates to weight control, and they should probably look for some other line of work.

The Fat Burning Workout Or Sugar Burning

Yes it's true that fat is burnt in the muscles, but so is sugar. All the really hard exercises where you sweat a lot and your muscles hurt, is burning practically nothing but sugar, and almost no fat.

Most professional teach that you have to work really hard to burn fat, and so the more motivated you are to have a fat burning workout, the harder you work, and the harder you work, the more sugar you burn, but practically no fat whatsoever.

You can go through all kinds of weight lifting routines for your weight loss workout, and even build big muscles, but they will be "sugar burning muscles", not fat burning muscles.

If you're a woman, you can build such big muscles this way, that you'll begin to look like a Guy, but you'll still be fat!

Walking for Weight-Loss

Realize that "walking for weight loss" is the absolute best weight loss exercise available. Unless you're already very fit, walking for weight loss is a much better fat burning exercise than running for weight loss.

If you're unfit and overweight, especially if you're obese and a typical couch potato, then…

If you go running for weight-loss, you'll burn almost nothing but sugar and you'll probably be very sore the next day.

On the opposite extreme, if you're an experienced marathon runner, then your body is a very efficient "Fat Burning Machine", which burns almost nothing but fat during a run.

However…

Just ordinary walking won't do it for you, you need to do power walking, which turns ordinary walking into a very efficient fat burning workout, but that's not all…

Not only is walking for weight loss a fast weight loss exercise and the best fat loss workout, but it will also a rebuild your metabolism so that you burn more fat the rest of the day, even when you're not exercising.

So you see, walking for weight loss, is really the best weight loss exercise available to you, because you really rebuild your metabolism, and that's the key to permanent weight loss.
